Working With us

Select Support is a family-led business, which offers support to many individuals and families in Sheffield. As a worker working for Select Support is a very rewarding job, as you will make a big difference to each individual lives, as they do yours.

Select Support offers trained support workers and personal assistants to support families and individuals in their own home or residential setting, and actively promote the rights of and seek out opportunities for individuals who have learning difficulties, physical disabilities, mental health needs, autism and the elderly; we also understand out duty of care to the people we are supporting. Ultimately our aim is to give support to enable people to help themselves and to lead rewarding lives.

We work alongside and in partnership with other organisations e.g. Social Care, NHS and Education. This could involve supporting individual(s) to access training organisations, AA counselling meetings, Rehabilitations centres for drug and alcohol miss-use, also social activities i.e. to meet with friends, families, so the individuals are involved and included in the wider community.

Once we have liaised with Social workers regarding support plans, support needs and budgeting, to ensure individuals needs are met. We co-ordinate and support along side the services that individuals/ families need to access. We try to match individuals to support workers who have similar interest, although we do try to make this happen we always provide them with a support worker that best fits with their support needs.

Support workers who have access to a vehicle and can drive are required to provide a clean driving licence.  All Select support worker need to provide an up to date DBS check on induction. New support workers have to complete a number of shadow shifts before being left to work on their own; we work on our own initiative and also work within teams.  We provide every worker with ongoing training, and are often monitored to make sure the needs of the individuals are always being met to the best of our support workers abilities.

Everybody matters whether you are a support worker or a support user, here at Select Support we treat with respect. All our staff are friendly, reliable, punctual  people who thrive in their work and always provide the best support possible. Our support workers are willing to seek out other opportunities for the individuals we support to come involved with i.e. social, community-based activities, educational etc.
